The main concept of the game is to be given cards totaling up to twenty one. Every gambler is given two cards. When a blackjack player is dealt a nine or less and an Ace they have been handed a soft hand. When the player receives no Ace it is known as a hard hand. As soon as the cards have been dealt all players at the blackjack table, including the dealer, every gambler is provided the chance to make one of six actions:

Taking another card (Hit): When a black jack player announces hit me the dealer will deal him another card, if the adding of that card makes the value of the hand to exceed twenty-one the gambler will have busted and that’s the end of the game, if the card makes the value of the hand to twenty one the gambler is the winner and if the value of the hand has not yet achieved 21 they are still in the game.

Keeping the hand you have been given: If a black jack player is happy with the hand they’ll stand. Once this has happened the croupier will show their hand and the black jack player who has accumulated twenty-one or the nearest to 21 will win.

Doubling Down: A player might request to double down which increases the bet by 100% they have placed. Once you’ve taken this procedure you can only receive one more card. The details of doubling down are usually out lined by the table or betting house rules so prior to playing make sure you are at ease with the casino established rules. If you’re gambling at a web casino this is usually quite easy.

Stay tuned for part two.
